In the last few decades I have learned a few things along the way. I thought I would just jot down the things that i feel are most important thus far and I hope it means something to someone at some point. Ill of course be adding to this along the way….
*YOLO- I mean this one whole heartedly, we have one short life that we get to live, so at every chance you get do what your heart tells you. If you like/love someone, tell them. If you want to try something, take the chance. If you want to travel, do it.
*SelfCare- This one has taken me nearly my whole life to understand. I have dealt with depression, anxiety and PTSD most of my life. My therapist is always telling me that the best thing to help manage all three of those things, besides the therapy itself, is a good selfcare routine. Selfcare can be anything from; a car ride blasting music (my personal favorite,) a day at the spa or a day at home doing spa treatments to yourself, sitting in a quiet place you life reading, writing, or drawing, baking/cooking, meditating, gardening, and anything else that makes you feel at peace/relaxed or centered. Doing this allows you to be able to let the stress of life wash off you a little easier.
*Don’t invest in people who aren’t investing in you- In other words, many people come in and out of our lives, and while i firmly believe every single person has a purpose for entering our lives, that doesn’t always mean they need to stay in our lives. If you are the one initiating all forms of contact, you are the one doing for them constantly and it’s not being reciprocated, then you need to consider not giving that person space in your life. Life is too short to surround yourself with negative people or people who just want to take from you.
